Spring Has Sprung

Updated: Apr 9, 2019

More sunny days, temperatures rising and almost no more overnight ice storms. That's right, spring is in the air! I've been feeling the clean-up bug since the day I got back from Christmas vacation, but now I want some greenery and freshness around the house. I may or may not have opened up the Easter decor tub to see what was happening in there, as well. ;)

But First, Coffee

I don't know how things go at your house, but here we spend a lot of time hanging around the Keurig. We used to be dedicated french press users, but we found a brew that we love for the Keurig, and we just can't move on from it. Not only is it convenient, but we never end up having to throw half a pot of expensive coffee away.

I got our Keurig for my husband as a Christmas present, thinking we would set it up in our room as an every-now-and-then decaf option, but it never made it past the kitchen. We decided to use apothecary vases to store our "k-cups" so we could easily get to the caff or decaf options. I love having seasonal decorations around the coffee station.

Hints of Green

For the rest of the house I added a little hint of green every so often. I didn't want to go full-on florals just yet, since we'll have plenty of time to enjoy fresh blooms later on this year.

"The beautiful spring came, and when nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also."

Harriet Ann Jacobs

I'm currently loving the boho chic trend, and this little basket absolutely made my day! I got it from TJ Maxx, but I linked a similar one towards the end of the post. They are available for under $50! Boho chic is seriously going to save me so much trouble. I have a room in the house that is just sort of... there. It is filled with legacy furniture from my first apartment, and it desperately needs to be revamped. Fortunately, all the pieces can transition to the boho style really easily, and even though it is a little different than the rest of the house, it's isolated enough to stand on its own. I'm will dive into that project as soon as our basement remodel is underway.

I hope you have enjoyed checking out some of my kitchen and living space spring spruce ups! Images below are linked to sources!
